Die oberen beiden Bilder entstanden nach Fotos meines Kurztrips nach Norddeutschland. Das untere ist mal wieder ein Motiv aus der Wohnung meiner Mutter.
The first two pictures have been done from photos taken on my short trip to the north of Germany. The last one once again shows a motive at my Mom’s place.
Nach längerer Malpause, da anderweitig sehr beschäftigt, haben mich diese bunten Tulpen doch mal wieder inspiriert! Ich hatte extra gewartet, bis sie anfingen, sich in alle Richtungen zu biegen, dadurch wird der Anblick – und das Bild – lebendiger.
After quite some time, having been busy with other stuff, these colourful tulips eventually inspired me again… I waited some days for them to bend a bit in all directions, which makes for a lively view – and picture.
Diesen weihnachtlichen Blumenstrauß bekam meine Mutter von meinem Bruder. Zusammen mit der edlen Plätzchendose aus Porzellan ein hübsches Stilleben!
My mother got this Christmas bouquet from my brother. Together with the classy china cookie jar a nice still life!
Von meinem Nachmittagsspaziergang hatte ich ein paar bunte Blätter mitgebracht… Ahorn, Esche, Pappel und Linde repräsentieren die Herbstfarben.
From my walk today I had brought home these leaves… Maple, linden tree, poplar and ash represent the fall colours.
Außerdem eine kleine Anekdote: den größten Teil der Strecke heute habe ich in ziemlich schnellem Gehtempo („Walken“) zurückgelegt. Auf einem schmalen Steg war vor mir ein junges Ehepaar mit einem kleinen Mädchen, das einen Puppenwagen schob. Als die Mutter mich bemerkte, sagte sie zu ihrer Tochter: „Carina, komm, lass bitte mal die Dame durch!“ Das Mädchen tat, wie ihr geheißen, und ich bedankte mich im Vorübergehen. Dabei sah ich, dass das Mädchen mich aufmerksam von oben bis unten musterte. Ich ahnte schon, was kommen musste… und tatsächlich, kaum war ich vorbei, hörte ich hinter mir:“Mama, warum ist das eine Dame, die sieht doch ganz normal aus!?“ 😁😁😁
Also, I’d like to tell you a little anecdote from this walk: actually, most of the way I was walking very fast to get a bit of exercise. On a narrow footbridge a young couple with their daughter pushing a dolls pram was in front of me. When the mother noticed me approaching, she said to the little girl: „Please, Carina, let the lady pass!“ The girl did as told, and when I passed, saying thanks, she looked me up and down curiously. I already knew what was to come… and yes, behind me, I heard the girl: „Mum, why is this a lady, she looks quite normal to me!?“😁😁😁

Wie erwähnt, mache ich derzeit jeden Tag eine Zeichnung zum Üben. Hier die bisherigen Ergebnisse:

Eines ist mir dabei klar geworden: ich brauche unbedingt einen weicheren Bleistift, mit dem ich auch dunkler – und somit mit mehreren Abstufungen – schraffieren kann!
One thing has become obvious, though: I need to purchase a softer pencil for darker – and thus more detailed – hatching/shading!
Meine „Bar“ steht in der Küche, denn ich verwende Alkohol fast nie zum Trinken (mal ein Glas Sekt zum Anstossen oder ein Radler im Sommer sind so ziemlich alles), aber ich liebe ihn zum Würzen! Ein Schuss Wein oder Sherry in die Soße, Portwein zur fruchtigen Nachspeise, Rum ins Gebäck oder Amaretto in die Marmelade, das ist fein! Natürlich nur, solang keine Kinder mitessen…
My „bar“ sits on the kitchen shelf, because I don’t like drinking alcohol that much (a glass of champagne on a party or a mix of beer and lemonade in summer at the most), but I very much like it for seasoning! A bit of wine in the gravy or sauce, port in a fruity dessert, rum in the cake batter or Amaretto in the jam are very nice! As long as there aren’t any kids at the table, that is…
