Die letzten Wochen bin ich gar nicht dazu gekommen, meine aktuellen Bilder zu posten… Daher heute gleich eine ganze Reihe! Oben: den Tulpenstrauß einer von mir besuchten Dame hatte ich fotografiert und als Vorlage für dies farbenfrohe Bild genommen. Unten: hier kam die Inspiration aus einer viele Jahre alten Zeitschrift, die mir beim Ausmisten in die Hand fiel.

During the last weeks I have been busy working and sketching, with no time left for posting… So, today I’d like to show you the latest results in one post. Above: an elderly lady I’m nursing had got a beautiful bunch of tulips, so I took a photo as reference for this colourful picture. Below: the inspiration for this one came from a years old living magazine I found when I got rid of my stash.

Nun ein paar Landschaften: diese fand ich in der näheren Umgebung. Rapsfelder bringen immer so ein tolles Leuchten in die Landschaft – und auf’s Bild! Unten: hier wollte ich mit Grüntönen üben und wählte als Fokus den Hochsitz.

Now, a few landscapes: the first two I found around here. Canola fields in bloom are a wonderfully bright addition to the view – and to the picture! Below: just playing with greens, with the raised hide as focus.

Die nächsten beiden Bilder sind wieder nach Fotos entstanden und zeugen beide von meiner Reiselust: Meer und Berge… Das Meeresmotiv basiert auf einem Foto, das mir die Mutter meiner Enkel von der Ostsee geschickt hatte, das Bergbild habe ich selbst am Klausenpass in der Schweiz gemacht.

The next two pictures, based on photos, are the result of my wanderlust… The beach theme has been done from a reference photo the mother of my grand kids had sent me from the Baltic Sea, the other one from a picture I had taken on the Klausen mountain pass in Switzerland.

Nun freue ich mich schon sehr auf meinen Urlaub Ende Mai, der mich wieder mal in die Schweiz führt: zunächst zu meiner Tochter nach Engelberg, dann für 10 Tage ins Tessin – der erste „richtige“ Urlaub seit der Pandemie! Und im Tessin gibt es sehr viele schöne Motive – nicht umsonst haben dort schon viele berühmte Leute gemalt!

Now, I’m already very much looking forward to my next vacation at the end of May: my trip will take me to Switzerland again; first to my daughter in Engelberg, then further south to the Canton of Ticino. This will be my first real trip since the pandemic, and in Ticino there’s a lot of great views for my camera and my brush – there’s a reason why many famous people have gone there for sketching and painting!
