Vor vielen Jahren hatte ich mal eine Woche im Dezember auf Mallorca verbracht. Angenehme Temperaturen, gemischtes Wetter und kaum etwas los – es war sehr schön! Zwei der dort entstandenen Fotos habe ich nun als Aquarell umgesetzt. Oben: ein etwas stürmischer Tag an den Klippen. Unten: im orientalischen Garten von Alfabia.

Many years ago I had spent a week in December on the island of Mallorca. In mixed weather conditions but pleasant temperatures and, most of all, very little tourism, we had a great time! Now I’ve used two of my photos of this trip as reference for watercolours. Above: a windy day at the cliffs; below: in the oriental gardens of Alfabia.

Einer der bekanntesten Orte auf Mallorca ist die Kleinstadt Deià. Bekannt als Künstlerort, gibt es dort im Sommer viel Trubel. Ich war damals im Dezember dort, da war es ruhig, aber auch wunderschön. Hier eine Ansicht vom Orangenhain aus.

One of the most famous small towns on the island of Mallorca is Deià. Known as a preferred stay for artists, it’s quite crowded in summer. My visit many years ago was in December, so I found it more quiet but very nice. I love the view over the orange grove.
