Heute habe ich mich nun endlich den Urban Sketchern hier in Augsburg angeschlossen. Das Treffen fand am „Glaspalast“ statt, einem der Industriedenkmäler Augsburgs. Jeder suchte sich ein Motiv (oder mehrere), zum Schluss kamen alle zusammen. Natürlich gab es auch den obligatorischen Stempel! Der Sonnenstand liess mich zunächst dieses Gebäude gegenüber des Glaspalastes wählen (ehemaliger Sitz der Walter Bau AG). Schön: das Atrium – und die Bäume werden teils schon gelb…

Today I’ve joined the Augsburg group of the Urban Sketchers. We met at the „Glass Palace“, one of Augsburg’s monuments from the industrial era. Everybody chose a scene (or several) to sketch, then we met again to appreciate everybody’s work. Of course we got the obligatory stamp, too! The position of the sun made me first choose this building on the other side of the street (above). I like the atrium and the trees which already show a bit of fall colouring…

Danach hatte ich noch genug Zeit für ein zweites Motiv, diesmal doch der Glaspalast, aber nur als Hintergrund. Die Farben im Vordergrund faszinierten mich nämlich mehr…

With still enough time, I did another one, this time with the „Glass Palace“ as background because the colours in the foreground intrigued me…

Ein kleiner Überblick der gesammelten Werke ( manche Zeichner haben Motive in der Ausstellung „SchwabIllu“ gewählt, die im Glaspalast derzeit gezeigt wird). Was aber auffällt: wenige arbeiten mit so viel Farbe wie ich… und sie können auch schon viel besser Architektur zeichnen oder vereinfachen. Aber ich werde ja auch weiter dazulernen!

A little impression of the works. Some of the sketchers hadn’t chosen a scene outside but visited the exhibition of illustrations shown in the museum inside. As you can see, most of the more accomplished sketchers don’t use much colour, they do great pictures of architecture and know how to simplify motives. But I’m still learning!

Auch zu Hause habe ich gestern mal wieder zum Pinsel gegriffen und den Blumenstrauß gemalt, den ich mir vom Stadtmarkt mitgebracht habe. Lauter Rosa-Töne! Unten noch zwei ganz kleine Zeichnungen, die ich bei meinen Enkeln im Garten gemacht und bisher noch nicht gepostet hatte:
