Heute war ein sehr sonniger Tag, sodass ich mal wieder einen längeren Spaziergang im Landkreis Friedberg unternahm. Dort ist es sanft hügelig und sehr abwechslungsreich mit Feldern, Wald, Wiesen, hier und da eine Scheune oder ein Stapel Holz, etc. Das obige Bild ist naturgetreu; das hohe Schilf o.ä. wird seit einigen Jahren stehen gelassen, um Tieren, auch Vögeln, im Winter einen Rückzugsort zu bieten. Bei diesem Bild kam mein Fächerpinsel sehr reichlich zum Einsatz!

On this sunny day I decided to take a longer walk in the countryside near Friedberg. I like it there because of the soft rolling hills, the interesting patterns of fields, meadows, woods and some sheds or wood stacks here and there etc. The picture above realistically shows todays atmosphere; the tall reed in the foreground is grown and left standing during winter as a shelter for birds and other animals. For this picture I’ve made extensive use of my fan brush!

Die kleine Kapelle steht im Dorf Rohrbach. Wenn ich dienstlich unterwegs bin, fahre ich oft daran vorbei; heute stand sie im vollen Sonnenlicht, das nützte ich für ein Foto. Beim Zeichnen habe ich aber etwas gemogelt: die Büsche und Bäume hatten noch kein Laub, das habe ich hinzugefügt. Tatsächlich ist die Kirche im Sommer hinter dem dichten Laub oft kaum zu sehen..

This small chapel is situated in a village I pass almost every day when visiting the elderly. Today I caught it in full sunlight. In this picture I’ve added the foliage of the tree and the bushes which actually still were bare. But in summer the foliage of the trees almost hides the chapel from view…
