Dieses Wochenende fand das Deutschlandtreffen der Urban Sketcher hier in Augsburg statt. Leider erfuhr ich davon viel zu spät, als dass ich noch Platz in einem Kurs gefunden hätte, doch heute gab es auch ein offenes Treffen zum Zeichnen, und da war ich dabei!
This weekend the Urban Sketchers Germany got together here in Augsburg. Alas, when I heard of this event, the workshops were already fully booked. But today everybody could join in the „Open Sketching“ hours – of course I took part!
Das Treffen fand am Elias -Holl-Platz hinter dem Rathaus statt; zunächst tummelten sich noch eine Menge Leute dort, und ich begann zu zeichnen… Doch ich bin so langsam! Nachdem ich die grobe Aufteilung des Bildes in meinem kleinen (A6) Büchlein festgelegt hatte, waren sie weg. So hielt ich wenigstens ein paar Gäste im Lokal und die Leute im Zelt fest. Danach setzte ich mich auf die Stufen unter dem ganz rechten Schirm und zeichnete die Häuserzeile gegenüber:
This event took place on the Elias-Holl-Place behind the City Hall; at first there were a lot of people strolling around and I started to sketch… But I’m still so very slow! When I wanted to add the strolling people, none were left. So I just added some very small people on the restaurant terrace and those still in the tent. After finishing, I sat on the steps beneath the umbrella on the right and sketched the houses on the other side of the place:
Das war natürlich noch einiges aufwändiger, sodass ich nur die Zeichnung vor Ort fertigstellte (im A5- Buch) und die Farbe dann zu Hause auftrug (ich mache mir in solchem Fall immer Notizen bzw. auf einem Stück Papier kleine Pinselstriche in den entsprechenden Farben zur Erinnerung). Nachmittags konnte man dann unten im Rathaus die Werke der Vereinsmitglieder bestaunen – allerdings habe ich nicht fotografiert, und würde es auch wegen Urheberrecht nicht hier veröffentlichen. Immerhin, es war schon beeindruckend, was manche Leute zu Stande bringen! Unten: ein paar Bilder, die ich gestern gemalt habe:
This was even more demanding because of the amount of details, so I just did the sketch without colours, adding them later at home (in this case I take notes or even some brush strokes with colour samples for later). In the afternoon, there was a small exhibition of the sketches done by the Urban Sketchers‘ members, but I didn’t take photos and wouldn’t post them anyway because of legal rights. Nevertheless, it was very inspiring to see their creations! – Below: some pictures I’ve done yesterday:
