Ein paar freie Tage, und ich habe das Malzeug gar nicht erst weggeräumt. Was mir auffällt – und mir viel Auftrieb gibt! – ist die Tatsache, dass das fleißige Üben Erfolg zeigt: das Zeichnen geht mir bereits deutlich leichter und schneller von der Hand; ich muss fast gar nicht mehr radieren, Perspektive und Proportionen stimmen meist sofort. Dabei hatte ich mich für so unbegabt gehalten! Wo noch sehr viel Luft nach oben ist, ist der Umgang mit den Farben: er muss noch viel leichter werden. Also weiter üben!

Having couple of days off, I never put away my pencil and brushes. For the first time I’ve noticed that all the practice is paying off: sketching comes much easier by now, almost no need for an eraser! Perspective and proportions are no mystery anymore… That’s quite an incentive to go on practicing until my colour-application becomes much more loose, too!
