Diese weiße Ledertasche in „Shopper“-Größe habe ich sehr günstig im Sozialkaufhaus erstanden. Da war sie allerdings noch ganz schlicht – ideal, um sie etwas aufzupeppen!

This shopper bag is genuine leather, but I’ve purchased it in the thrift store/charity shop, it was really cheap, but in very good condition. Of course, it was still blank… Almost begging for some creative upcycling!

Also habe ich zunächst aus Lederresten Blüten ausgeschnitten und passende Knöpfe aus meinem Fundus ausgesucht. Dann den Boden des Taschenfutters aufgetrennt und herausgestülpt, um mit einer Hand innen an das Leder zu kommen. Dann jede Blüte mit LEDERNADEL! und festem Zwirn von Hand aufgenäht, dabei mittig die Knöpfe aufgenäht. Die großen Blüten zusätzlich in den Kerben der oberen Blüten mit Stichen fixiert. Ja, das war – trotz Ledernadel – ganz schön harte Arbeit, da teils 3 Lagen Leder durchstochen werden mussten. Das goldfarbene war leider auch besonders dick… Aber nun war es geschafft, ich habe dann noch mit Acrylmarker Blätterranken aufgemalt und das Futter wieder zugenäht – ein Designerstück!

So I cut some flowers from pieces of leather and looked for some matching buttons in my stash. Then I opened the seam of the bottom lining, pulling it out a bit to get to the back of the leather. Then I used a special leather needle (!) and strong yarn to stitch the flowers (by hand) onto the bag, fixing the buttons, too. The large flowers have got some added stitches to secure them. All this was quite a bit of work despite the leather needle, because I had to pierce 2 to 3 layers of leather, the gold tone one being quite thick… But then it was done, so I just painted some leaves using an acrylic marker and closed the seam of the lining. Doesn’t it look now like a designer bag?
